Frequently Asked Questions
-
"How should I prepare for my appointment?"
Get some rest, stay hydrated, take a shower, and eat something before your session. Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment.
-
“Can you tattoo over scars?”
Yes! I personally enjoy tattooing over scars. The only thing I look out for is if they are at least a year old, and that if I tattoo over them I won’t cause any more damage. In some cases I might need clearance from your doctor.
-
“What is a standard tip? Is cash or card better?”
20% tip is standard in the tattoo industry. However, any tips are always greatly appreciated. Cash is preferred for tip.
-
“Can I see a rough sketch before our appointment?”
For larger scale projects I will have artwork prepared for you to make adjustments to at the time of appointment. For smaller scale tattoos we will draw together before we put the stencil on. This usually takes no more than 10-15 minutes which is usually added into the appointment time. (not included in hourly rate.)

"What should I consider when designing my tattoo?"
Will this translate well onto skin?
Do I want my tattoo to be visible on a day to day basis?
Is this the start of something big, or a standalone piece?
How will this design age?
Does this design align with my moral beliefs?
Am I choosing to get this tattooed with only my free will and not the influence of others?

Touchups
Everyone is entitled to a touch up on their tattoo. Touch ups can only occur after 6 weeks once your tattoo is fully healed, otherwise it will damage the skin. Touch ups are not the same thing as a post op, and they are not required.
Please only inquire if it really needs it.
Gratuity is greatly appreciated for the service, and to cover the cost of equipment used for the touchup.
There could be a lot of reasons why you are seeing fading, or patching. The main reasons are sun exposure, picking, scratching, or neglect to care for the tattoo. Infections are the number one cause of patches in a healed tattoo.
I need all the information possible to determine how to correct the problem. When inquiring about a touch up, please send a photo and explain your aftercare routine. I may deny your request if there is nothing wrong with it.

How should I pay for my tattoo?
In Washington I am required to charge sales tax to the total of the amount charged. For example, the total of the service is 500 dollars. After the 10.25% sales tax applied the total comes to $551.25. The total you would owe is 451.45 after the deposit is subtracted. Please bring cash to your appointment!
